For most parents, from even the earliest hours of holding that new precious bundle of joy in your hands is full of profound thankfulness and wonder. As parents, we want to express our gratitude to God and be good parents, attending to our child’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. At Immanuel, we believe that baptism is more than just a one-time event, or something to be “taken care of.” We want it to launch a relationship with God and His people. So we take the time to visit with parents before baptism to make sure that they have a plan in place to raise their child in faith. We also embrace the chance to talk with adults who have not been baptized and explore the life-giving power that is found in Jesus’ name. If faith is what you desire, we would love to schedule a time soon to baptize you. We can arrange for a Sunday morning baptism during worship or schedule a time during the week when a smaller, more intimate group of leaders and family can gather with you around the baptismal font.
